Matt Green has always had a deep interest in the human body, specifically how it works, moves, and adapts to exercise. Starting in high school, he began generating a passion for exercise and its adaptive effects on the body in a positive way. Upon graduation, he knew he wanted to pursue a career in helping others improve their lives through exercise and immediately enrolled in the Kinesiology-Exercise Science program at the University of Central Oklahoma. Over the course of 5 years, he was exposed to many theoretical and practical experiences in human physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, exercise testing & prescription, handling special populations and athletic populations. At the same time, he joined UCOs Reserve Officer Training Program with aspirations of becoming a United States Army Officer, gaining deeper experience in leadership, planning, and effective communication.

After graduating in 2014 with his bachelors, receiving the American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist Certification, and his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant, he immediately started applying his degree at the Mercy Fitness Center as a Fitness Specialist.

It is there that he was exposed to multiple populations from youth up to geriatric and extreme special populations including those with type 2 diabetes mellitus, osteoporosis/osteopenia, muscular dystrophy, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, joint replacements, and many others, all in which broadened his capacity to effectively train and improve an individual’s health no matter the circumstance.

Over the next 4 years, he continued to improve his education and knowledge through various certifications, such as the Functional Movement Screen and the Army’s Master Fitness Trainer Certification, and the teachings of credible, research-based figures in the exercise science field. On top of that, he continued to climb the ladder at the Mercy Fitness Center, achieving the titles of Lead Personal Trainer, Personal Training Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator, and eventually the Fitness Manager position. He has also headed up the Medical Advisory Board at the Mercy I-35 Fitness Center, with the goal of incorporating physicians and other health care practitioners in the creation of exercise programs to benefit special populations. During this time, he has also returned to school in pursuit of his Graduate Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Matt has acquired multiple specialties through countless hours of training and research. His philosophy is about putting your health above all else and believes that through constant and consistent exercise, the best preventative medicine out there, you will have the greatest quality of life possible. He specializes in multiple training modalities including beginner through advanced strength training, metabolic conditioning, weight management, functional movement pattern analysis, corrective exercise techniques, soft tissue mobilization, advanced mobility/stability modalities, nutritional guidance, and special population exercise prescription. No matter the goals you are seeking to accomplish, his educational background, practical experience, and an immense dedication towards his craft, he will ensure you achieve your goals in the safest and most effective way possible.
